Grandma made the joke first.

A sweet-looking kitchen apron with one wildly inappropriate secret, inspired by the prank aprons our great-grandma used to make by hand.

This started as a real family joke. Back in the 1990s, my great-grandma would collect scrap fabric, thrift-store towels, old clothes, and whatever odd prints she could find, then turn them into handmade gag aprons for family and close friends. From the outside, they looked sweet and old-fashioned, right up until the towel lifted and the room lost it.

The modern version brings that tradition back as a real wearable apron: part kitchen tool, part prank gift, part I cannot believe Grandma made this.
